First post... My daughter brought this little guy from the water... we are releasing him tomorrow however i would like to know what it is? Any help would be appreciated..

I wanted to identify it so i know of i should release it or kill it.. dont want to release it if its non native..

It looks as though it ought to be some kind of coral, and yet . . . Is the more opaque thing underneath it part of the same creature, or is that something different?

@Lionfish Lair might know what that guy is . . .

Its the same thing... it has what looks to be a foot or a tail.. its inside a water bottle..

It was awkward to have found this on a sand bar and not near any rocks.. either eaybits going back in the water in a few minutes

If it has a column/foot or stalk than it's probably an anemone.
