Help! Leather coral damaged

My convict blennies have buried on of my leather corals. I have unburied it a few days ago and now part of it is disintegrating! Will it recover? Please help

It looks like Sinularia dura, cabbage coral. Can you get another small rock to help lift it up off the sand a bit more? That should help and so will making sure it has enough flow to help prevent sand from settling on it. You may have to keep your turkey baster handy and blow the sand off with that from time to time.
