Help me decide which protein skimmer

[Xclusive Reef]

looking for a protein skimmer for a 90 gal mixed coral and fish tank. I have been looking at 2:

Reef octopus regal 200sss rated for up to 400 gal
Skimz monzter sm163 rates for 319 gal

Want a good quiet skimmer that is reliable.. Will also consider other models.

I used the reef octopus in the past - I am now using Deltec. I you can afford a Deltec ( go for it )

never had any experience with SKIMZ .

all those skimmer are loud I'd get a tunze 9410 dc its got a bunch of features like anti over flow, dc mecanical filtration, and the air silencer is built into the body of the skimmer. If your going heavy on the fish id get the 9415

I like AquaMaxx Q3 at marine depot-powerful and efficient. ( Sicce pump as well)

Take a look at them; they looked good enough to me to pull that trigger.

I went to a LFS and he was running a reef octopus and I liked it. I am waiting for black friday and then make a decision based on what I see. I also like the vertex 180ans skimz so i will see whats the best deal based on my needs.
