need help about to upgrade my diy sump to a name brand sump and the choices are down to two
the main focus for me is not to use filter socks. i use media cups which houses on occasion carbon or gfo or something else. i then place fliter floss ontop of the media cups and the debri it catchs does not stay in contact with the water.
dont ask its my ocd debri socked water socks that stay in full contact all the time with the water is wrong IMO only. ANYWAY here are my choices

Bashsea SS-48 Signature Series Sump (48" x 15" x 16")

triggerr SAPPHIRE 39

cons of the bashsea- i get very little addtional room under my stand my current sump is 48" long so i gain an addtional 4" of room hard to get to the corners of my sump as it is. i do not understand the return section on the ss48 and its only 8" x 8" and

pro to the trigger is i will gain a good amount of addtional room going from a 48" sump to a 39" sump wont have to bend and twist to get to athe corners of the sump.

pros to both is that i will gain alot of open space about 1' plus from the bottom of my stand to the top of the new sump. right know i only have 6" its really hard to get things in and out for cleaning

this last picture is what i do not want in a sump i do not want to be forced to use filter socks only

You can get a scratched trigger sump for cheap on their site if you don’t care about it being cosmetically pleasing

DO YOU USE A PAR METER WHEN PLACING NEW CORAL IN YOUR TANK?

  • Yes! I think it's important for the longterm health/growth of my coral.
