Hello,

I received my first piece of equipment for my tank, an Aquatic Life t5 hybrid fixture.

Unfortunately, it came bent. I will be getting bulbs soon to test it, but I don't think the electronics were damaged. The supplier told me that this has happened before, and I can try bending it back.

Here are some pictures with the endplates next to it to show the issue:

How would you guys safely fix this? I don't want to ruin the finish or break anything.

Thanks,

I never done this, but it looks like it’s out of wack and not square.

maybe try to place a towel or something soft on the floor or hard surface, stand fixture on end and gently push down in the corner that’s out of wack to try to get it square again. That’s at least where I would start.

also ask supplier for discount lol.
Good luck my friend! Happy reefing!

nice light btw

It's not a bent extrusion, as noted above there are two pieces that make up the complete housing. Take the end plate off, slide and butt the two extrusion pieces up together and re-attach the plate. You won't damage anything, other than the end plate might need to be flexed a bit to sit flush again.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I unscrewed the small end plates and ended up tapping it back into place with the use of a hammer and towel. I took a peek at the ballasts and they seem fine.

Thanks again!
