I bought this Achilles tang around 5 days ago when he only had a little stratch by his nose. Now it’s appears to be an infection. See picture by his nose really big hole now. Any1 has any idea how to treat this fish?. I have a quarantine tank ready to go. Appreciate any inputs. Thank you

That looks like bacterial infection that needs to be treated asap. Do you have QT ready and medications on hand? Best to treat with trifecta of Metro + kanaplex + furan 2.

Is the fish eating?

melafix isn't an effective medication for marine bacterial infections
been using this stuff 11 years with healing success as it is Teak tree oil. There is maracyn, myacin, etc for healing but trying to keep it simple.
Melafix is formulated for open wounds, sores , tail rot and healing of open skin

For infections of the head region, treat with Sulfaplex + Neoplex together for 10-14 days.
