Help! (Only mildly urgent)

I have a 20 Gal tank with 4 peppermint shrimp, and a RBTA. Most of you probably know that these shrimp like to eat anemones, unfortunately I didnt..

Is there any thing I can do to prevent this from happening? Or do I need to return the shrimp to my LFS?

My tank parameters are spot on, everyone is doing fine, minus the shrimp feasting on my anemone.

What have you guys done to prevent this behavior? I'm assuming some clowns hosting it would protect him, but by RBTA is a little too small to start hosting just yet.

I have found peppermint shrimp to be a general nuisance in my main display, they tend to constantly pick at and aggravate corals especially when your trying to feed them.. they are great for coral quarantine and holding tanks as they help clean up rock and eliminate pest.

In the 18 months I had a peppermint shrimp, it never bother my BTAs. Unfortunately, my wrasse ate it (I think). Maybe you need to feed them more.

Pepps shouldn't mess with a BTA. They may steal food from it though.

Peppermints shouldn't mess with Entacmaea quadricolor, in 14 years I've never had that issue in any system I've worked with.

Ok, maybe that's what's happening then. They might be trying to steal the food out of it.

I had 3 peppermint shrimp that ate my first 3 corals I bought. I was MAD.


Needless to say theyre no longer with us. Ill never buy them again.

*Update*

I'll be returning my peppermint shrimp tomorrow, I witnessed them ripping a tentacle off of my BTA.
