HELP!! Red coating on hammer stock

Can any tell me if this is bad. My hammer has been slowly retracting this week. I took it out to dip in coral revive and saw a red coating on part on the stalk??????

Not sure. Looks like eggs. Does it blow off easily or is it hard and slimy?

Slimy I brush it off with a tooth brush

If it's slimy I would say cyano. Do you have any anywhere else?

Nope... I've looked all over the tank. Would the cyano cause the hammer polyps to retract if it were on the stalk. I brushed it off so I can't get any more photos....

It can be sponge.
