I picked up a 50g cube today and the guy had siliconed acrylic over the drilled holes in the back of the tank. Anybody got any ideas on how to separate the acrylic from the glass?? I have tried a razorblade, exacto, and a putty knife but neither seem to work.

well i tried all of these together and finally accomplished to get one cover off. the heat gun worked wonders but it still took a while to pry it from the glass

heated the acrylic with the heat gun till it was so hot i couldnt touch it, then forced the putty knife up through the silicone which required alot of force but worked very effectively. then while the silicone was still hot i just scraped it off with a dullled razor blade being very careful not to scratch the glass
