I have a rimless 93g that I want to create a clownfish harem tank.

I have a medical problem that reading & research hurts, so making my own thread here is much less researching and reading.

I have a beautiful,......neon green Haddi Carpet.
A few BTA's.

I have a lot of hand sized live rock to use, as well as large. My thoughts is if two different species are closing into each other, I can move that nem and rock elsewhere. I realize this would be a daunting task, but I'm home all day & night, so I can keep eyes on them easier.

What & how many different species of Anemone's can be together without fighting ?
The same goes for Anemone fish's ?

I've seen several harem tanks that house all BTA's, and their beautiful, but I'm wanting/hoping,.....to create something different and deverse.

Your advise, opinion, photo's and video are welcome !

(Be nice please) !

Hi Kevin! I would suggest picking your favorite species of clownfish and having that be the only species in the tank as a harem. I know that there can be problems when mixing different types of nems, but I'm not sure about types and what their reactions would be with each other. I'll leave that part to the others.

Sorry I can't be much specific help, but there is a member who loves nems. So, put fingers in mouth and whistle for @cromag08.

My wife and I talked last night about maybe using our project in wall 125g, and not the 93g cube. Our thoughts are, if we put the carpet in one end with a paired Saddle Back's and the BTA's in the other with Ocells, maybe we could have two species of Clowns in the tank. That way the 125 is 6' long, so a much longer spread between them.

We've always have had Clowns and LOVE the symbiotic relationship, but we're wanting something different than the usual.
The 125g being in the living room wall, and the plasma TV above it, we can imagine watching them in their Anemone's while watching FISH TV. lol

Back in the 90's I built a in wall 75g reef with the (if you're old enough to remember) "CONSOLE",...... TV below it. It was wonderful !

The 125g would also cut back on two tanks to one but,....the 93g cube would be great as a dedicated Nem/Fish harem,.... tank.

What's your thoughts, 93 cube or 125 mixed reef ?

I'll look up that Nem member and the combatable link.
Thanks !

I have mixed all of the commonly kept nems, including some cold water species I was able to acclimate to tropical temps. I've never had issues except for some tentacle battling. nothing from the chemical standpoint. I also run carbon in my tanks.

Not sure that I've ever read any scientific research regarding "chemical warfare" between nem species.
