My torch this morning
ImageUploadedByReef2Reef Aquarium Forum1375242663.337494.jpg

I did a 20% wc, scrubbed algae and re did my rock. The only thing in the tank I DID NOT touch was my torch.
This is it right now!

The right side has one mouth and is normal looking
The left side with another mouth looks like this!!

I am thinking re-doing your rock irritated it. It might have gotten detritus on it/in it. Have you checked your water parameters to see if you stirred up stuff enough to have a spike in ammonia?

I tested earlier. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate
Ph 8.2
Temp 79
I'm panicked, although he's banished to the corner of the tank ( should'nt be in my little nano but LFS said it would be great to have) I'm attached to him. He's been in here for a little over a month. I've dropped a rock on him before (had a collapse) and he swelled up but was ok after an hour. These bubbles are freaking me out and it's only on one side. :(

Is he getting too much or too little flow? I think you should leave him alone and see how he is tomorrow.

Have you tried moving it around diff. Spots in your tank?
Seems that mine gets upset a lot. I don't touch him at all. Found a spot it likes and there it sits. I had planned on taking him off the frag tile because its ugly but for the most part it's happy where it is. Does get puffed every time I clean my tank. I think possibly I'm bumping him when I scrub algae. No other ideas on why it blew up this time.

He's been on the sand up in the frt of the tank since day 1, where there is pretty moderate flow. He was fully extending for the last 1-1/2 months like 1-1/2" out of his base, then all of a sudden drooped and looked like he was gonna die. Anyway he looks a little better today then the last 3 days but still not sure what his trip is?

Man that first picture I thought was a nem. Torches will retract their polyps randomly, it looks healthy and should return to normal soon. Keep us updated.

It could be getting ready to split. My frogspawn bubbles up when it's trying to split, but I only have one head of torch so I don't know if they do it too.

+1 mine does this when splitting. And sometimes will get a large single bubble that appears. So just a heads up lol.

Alex,
I'll keep an eye on it as it does have two mouths and the top looking down looks like two torches but the base is one. This morning it looks very happy and back to normal! Yay

Does it look like it wants to split? The mouth on the right side is kind of leaning over today. I can't see between the tentacles though :(

I guess I'm a little late in answering this, but the picture of the torch when it was bubbled up looks like it had a real good meal. Probably when you stirred up the tank it was taking it all in.

Mine done this for few week after rock damage , it's its way of healing damaged area. It's good thing because most die after a bad damage and turn to jelly.
