So I have a black/burgundy tomato clown which was paired with a normal clown the normal clown sadly passed away a few weeks ago and I was wondering if I could get another Cone fish to pair with him or will he kill it?

Yes its possible. But they could fight... Just be careful with size choices etc.

Were they both tomato clowns or was one an occy?
You can repair, you just have to be careful about the new one. The best results are with a new clown that’s significantly smaller than the current one to reduce chances of aggression.

I always go with one no more than 3/4” and looking exactly like what died.

I’d definitely do another occy - mixing species is always a risk.
I have found that similar breeds tend to work out better than a black and orange for example.
