So I’ve had this guy for about 3 months now doing great until recently he has been acting “depressed” not eating aggressively, and staying to one spot most of the day.

This morning I found him wedged between two rocks not moving. I tried to get him out as to not spike ammonia in the tank and he moved. I caught him fairly easy and started up a 10 gallon hospital tank.

just swims slowly like this. No visible signs of anything. Tried to post a video but not sure why it wouldn’t play.

Tank Params are good, all other fish in tank are very active and lively. I believe it may possibly be due to aggression from a large sailfin but I’m not sure.

This fish which is not uncommon has velvet (see the dots all over its body and likely gills why it stopped eating)
As long as you have it in quarantine, begin treatment. My best success for velvet has been treating with polyp lab Medic
Velvet may initially start out looking just like ich, with salt or sugar-like “sprinkles” visible mostly on the fins.
Within days or sometimes just hours, these tiny white dots will spread all over the fish’s body, covering it in “dust.” This dust may look grey-gold colored if viewed at the right angle and under the right spectrum of light.
Chloroquine phosphate is the treatment of choice for velvet, but copper also works if symptoms are caught early on. These both work on ich, so if in doubt treating with Chloroquine or copper will have you covered both ways.
You may do a 5 minute freshwater dip for temporary relief and then treat for at least 30 days

Sorry I just seen this crappy quick picture. Those dots are actually on the glass not on the fish. Here is another pic of the fish without looking through the glass

Is the fish breathing faster than normal? It could still be velvet.....
