It is surrounded by vermetid snails.......are they irritating it?

Aptasia carries a powerful sting to corals nearby if it uses it....

Vermetid Snails live in those hard tubes that are all over the rocks in that picture. They send out little strings of slime....that’s how they eat. The slime is what can irritate Corals. I count at least 6-7 just in that one photo.

Theres monti-eating nudibranchs as well as a possibility.

Wait till the lights are out, get an LED flashlight, and try to do some critter hunting in the middle of the night... U will be surprised at what you find.

I went through that. Just had to toss everything and go without for a few months.

I have personally found JMT to be a tempermental Monti. More fickle than acros even.

Yes I have dipped with revive. How do I get rid of the vermetid snails. I started with dry rock dipped everything and still have some issues obviously. I have had this monti for 5 months and it just started receding.

Physical removal/damage works fine. Or cover up their tube with a bit of superglue.

What are the actual water values? Any change in the last days?

I tested the water last Monday and they were all good
Alk 8.0
Cal 460
Phosphate 0.0 on API test
Nitrate 0 on API test

With montis I would try to test alkalinity more often to see how stable it is.

Mine did the same thing, all I did was move it and its all better, colored up and everything. That should always be your first step in diagnosing coral problems, they are picky.

With montis I would try to test alkalinity more often to see how stable it is.

Might wanna try to get po4 between .02 and .08 too.
