most of my sps is gone to crap. i just got rid of the red bug problem over a month ago and everything was comming back great. now my heater went bad and ran the temp up to the high 80's. as of now my digis and birdsnests are showing skeloton, my red plate is starting to show ocational white, my blue tip acro turned completly brown and my green milli isnt extending its polyups. the blue tip acro is starting to get the color back in its tips now. the only things that are looking good still are my tricolored acros, pink tip acro and green soft tissue acro. all soft corals are doing great. ive already replaced the heater and the temp is at a steady 80 degrees with the 175 halides on. tank is a 55. all water parameters are within normal range for my tank.

I would get a controller such as a Reefkeeper Lite, you can program it to shut the heater off when your water goes past a degree setting of your choice. For instance I have my programed to shut off my heater when it goes over 79.9 degrees. It is a good piece of equipment to have in this hobby it can save you an entire tank crashing sorry to use your situation as an example but it is what it is.:)

That sucks. Just keep up with the water changes and just minimize any swings and they should come back

My heater did that too and switched to a digital heater or Ranco is another good controller. Just give it some time and things should come back.
