I have an 11 year old custom sealife 72 inch fixture. It had 4 96 watt PC bulbs in it. Each bulb has its own workhorse 5 ballast.
I wanted to switch it to 4 80w T5 HO bulbs so I ordered new shunted sockets and 5 new ATI bulbs.
1 of the ballasts was replaced 1-2 years ago the others were the originals.
My husband rewired it according to fulhams workhorse 5 diagram.
The bulbs all fired and worked for a few days but within a week wouldnt fire except for 1 remaining bulb thats still working for about 2 weeks now.
I had 5 bulbs so actually 4 wont fire out of 5.
The ballasts are housed 2 in each box. Each bulb has a seperate chord.
We took apart 1 ballast box and the remaining one has the 1 bulb thats still working on it. I'm guessing the bulb thats working is the newer ballast.
I ordered 2 new ballasts but before my hubby wires them he wants to know if his wiring looks right? He drew a diagram of how he wired it.
We cant figure out why the bulbs keep burning out and its getting expensive.
Is it possible the old workhorse 5 ballasts wont run T5's?

Your wiring diagram is correct per the Fulham site for that bulb and ballast. You might want to check the bulb temperature, as excessive heat will make a t-5 fail prematurely. I find that the laser temp guage that Harbor Freight sells works well for this purpose. You would be amazed how hot the bulb can get if it does not have enough air circulation.
