help with Valonia

Hi,
I am fighting against valonia and aiptasia (ciano and dino seem now under control).
I have a mitrax but it stays always on other rocks and its contribute is really limited. I'm evaluating using of continuum equation M or Razor and the red sea aiptasi x for aiptasia. I have a RS 170 so I'm limited in space. Do you have any experience with this products? Now I have just little frags, so if I have to use chemicals I think it the right moment...

Razor did work for me, it killed off the bubble algae. aptaisia x only made my aptaisia multiply not kill it.

I'm sorry but that looks pretty bad, it could be a long route to recover. I would think about doing a rock swap, or even a tank tear down and start over since you don;t have many corals. How big is the tank?

Aitpasia X (and other products) can work, but can also make it worse in my experience.

If you are lucky, you can treat them just fine. If you aren't, you will have to resort to something that eats them like Berghia nudis or Peppermint shrimp. Peppermint shrimp often lose interest while Berghias are prone to being eaten by shrimp or possibly hermit crabs.

If you can take out rocks on their own, I would start nuking them one by one with hydrogen peroxide or bleach while always leaving enough of them in to keep the nitrogen cycle stable. A complete restart might be worth considering as well like Mr. Mojo said, but I understand if that is not what you want.

Reducing nutrients and improving filtration might also help with slowing down the overall growth-rate of nuisance algae. Even if nutrient levels already appear low, there is so much stuff growing in the tank, I doubt nutrients are actually a limitation at all.

As inspiration, a few years ago my 40 breeder also got bad bubble algae and aptaisia, in the pics below you can see aptiasia growing on the bubble algae. I cycled my rocks in a seperate container, then did a full rock swap, and end up with 100% pest free rocks.

all my rocks are full glued, It would be very difficult. The rock in the photo is the worst one, the other aren't covered, just some bubble

For aiptasia I've used all the products, what has worked for me is Joe's Juice.

There's two important things when using this or any of these products.

1). Turn off all flow for a min of 15 minutes. You want the product to stay where you use it and you do not want it blowing around, likely making your aiptasia issue worse, and causing other issues.

2). I only use one syringe per treatment as to not use too much product.
