Hermits perch everyday on this gorgonian. (Funny)

It's a homing behavior, I find it bizarre. I have had hermit return to the same tip of an acropora every afternoon. Currently I have a hermit that climbs the corner of the aquarium and sits on the ledge, out of the water every afternoon. I have read they follow a pheromone trail much like limpets and chitons do.
