He won’t full on jump out but he does jump and hop around in and above the water!

Hewbie IS a star! My wife has one named Spudnik (aka Potato) who's very spirited. He will purposefully spit water at you if you are taking too long with food delivery. Also Hewbie gets a little too excited during feeding time! He has trouble staying in the tank and keeping water in his tank! I have to yell at him sometimes! He won’t full on jump out but he does jump and hop around in and above the water!

They have such big personalities! Potato lives in the kitchen because he's so interactive. I love how they follow you around and are always interested in what's going on. Though he sometimes pouts if you get something out of the freezer and it isn't for him. They are the best!
How big of a tank does Potato live on? Oh no poor baby! They have such big personalities! Potato lives in the kitchen because he's so interactive. Hewbie got banished to the basement sadly because of how big is tank is and because his first home leaked.Potato is currently in a 36" x 18" 30 breeder, since he's still very small and lives alone. We acquired him at less than 1.5" I've got a 100g in storage he can move into when he grows unless I find something better. Lol maybe I can convince my wife he needs an indoor pond one day. Obligatory Potato tax with 1" clam for scale. How big of a tank does Potato live on? How long have you had him for? I never had Hewbie that little. I got him around 3-4 inches and now he’s almost a foot. I did however have a 1-2 inch baby puffer for a short time that didn’t survive after I move it to the school tank I cared for. Baby puffs are so sensitive to everything. We got potato when he was less than 1.5". We've had him for 9 months now. He was a "rescue" my wife saw in a petco mislabeled as something else and begged me to try and save him. He was completely missing his tail fin from fin rot when we got him. First round of antibiotics didnt touch it, so it took ciparo to fix that...then flukes and ich showed up and required copper to fix (which i was very nervous about doing). I was sure he was going to die, but he pulled through. He was also VERY difficult to get to eat. Took live ghost shrimp to get a feeding response, and then he graduated to live clams. He takes frozen clams and earthworms now, and gets frozen krill as an occasional treat.OMG! HE’S SO LITTLE AND CUTE!How long have you had him for? I never had Hewbie that little. Yes I experienced this with Hewbie too. Sometimes fish after they are collected and shipped especially porcupine pufferfish revert back to eating only live foods. I didn’t know it at the time and I tried everything but it wasn’t until I put a live crab in the tank as a last ditch effort that he went to town. I mean you have to think these fish were swimming in the ocean open and free a few days before and now they feel like they are trapped in a jail cell after they got thrown around in transport in a cold dark box. It takes a little for any fish but especially pufferfish who are incredibly smart and emotionally intelligent to get used to captivity. Hewbie will not eat anything but at first he didn’t. Now he gets so spoiled with his variety of seafood from the grocery store and fish vitamins daily. He’s living his best life and he knows it. For instance he refuses to eat clams unless I break them open for him completely! We got potato when he was less than 1.5". We've had him for 9 months now. I’m like dude did you forget where you came from and I know that beak is more than capable. But since I do spoil him I open them for him and if I don’t he won’t eat them lol.Lol I know exactly what you mean. Potato not only recognizes the difference between me and my wife, but also recognizes different food packaging. He begs way harder when he sees her because she's more likely to cave and give up the krill. But he'll go sulk in his cave and eat it when he thinks im not looking when I get out the frozen clams. I've always been a reef guy and never been one for fish only tanks, but potato won me over. He’s living his best life and he knows it.
