Hey everyone,

Figured it was time to start a proper build thread and introduce myself. I’ve been in the hobby for a while and decided to finally go all-in on a larger system that I can grow into long-term. I really enjoy the planning and system design side of reefing just as much as the livestock, so this build is focused on stability, clean plumbing, and giving myself room to expand over time.

The tank is a custom 240L × 90W × 50H cm display paired with a 180L × 60W × 50H sump.
The goal is a balanced reef with open swim space, strong filtration, and enough depth front-to-back to create a natural aquascape instead of a rock wall.

Current equipment plan looks like this:

Lighting: 3x Radion XR30 with 4x AI Blade bars for full coverage across the width
Filtration: Reef Octopus 250-S skimmer, Lifegard Pro-Max 120W UV, carbon/GFO reactor
Flow & plumbing: Dual Ecotech COR20 pumps with a manifold-fed equipment layout, Nero 5s/ Nero 7s
Temperature: 1HP chiller
Control & monitoring: Apex Pro system with modules, Trident testing, Apex NP testing, salinity monitoring, ATO, and feeder, PM1, MXM, Aquawiz (redundancy)
Calcium & nutrients: Calcium reactor AC3 setup and refugium with Neptune GRO light, Apex Dosing Units x2 (mainly for auto water change and Supplements etc)
Misc: Apex ATO, Reef Can x2, Custom R/O setup, Finnex 500x titanium Heaters X2, Apex Auto Feed, Chiliros LED Planted Light (I will be running 3 Red Mangrove Plants in the Display)

I’ll be running dry rock with a shallow sand bed and seeding the system carefully so it matures the right way from the start.

I’m still in the setup and planning phase, )Should be ready to start around 1st of April) but I’ll be updating this thread with photos of the tank, sump layout, plumbing, and aquascape as things progress. Looking forward to sharing the build and learning from everyone here along the way.

Thanks for following along updates coming soon.
