Hey there!

Just got back into the hobby after a 15 year hiatus. Jumped in with both feet into a BioCube32. Second attempt at saltwater and really enjoying thus far. The information on this site is fantastic and is really helping me stick to the plan. Really looking forward to the information share, once I have something of value. Cheers!
Welcome!

hi welcome to the reef going to love it here!!
lots of fun/info/fun/help/fun.. :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I will certainly be visiting often as this site is a treasure trove of information.

So, I am officially at day 16. My Ammonia levels have gone down considerably, Nitrites are spiking and Nitrates are going up pretty high as well. I decided to start the light cycling today so that I can start the algae/diatom process. Really antsy to get some livestock in the tank, but being very patient, as I live about an hour and a half from That Fish Place in Lancaster, and I don't really trust anywhere else. If the lighting is starting too soon, I would welcome the feedback. I Have a skimmer, but it is off until the cycle is complete. I stopped feeding the tank after day 7. I am adding bacteria (Microbe-Lift NITE-OUT II) daily until the Nitrites are under control.

My intention was to add a CUC first, but I currently have no growth in the tank that's visible, so I'm worried they would starve. Do I add fish first? I am keeping it very simple with a clown, some damsels, and maybe 2-3 others. Really want to focus on the corals when I get to that point. Thanks in advance!!!
