hi i have recently come back to my reef tank after not properly caring for it for a while to find my levels all out of whack. its been about a month now of strict maintenance and water testing and its coming back nicely but i cant seem to be able to keep my alkalinity low enough.
mag-was 1800 dropped it to 1530 over a months time
cal- was 180 now 340
alk- was 10.9 now 11.8
ph-8.2
i have been watching my calcium closely and its been coming up nice and slow as i have been dosing with Kent marine 2 part
but ive noticed even with water changes my alkalinity is climbing. any ideas on how this could be and how i could raise my calcium without raising my alkalinity.
