You used way more calcium and magnesium to boost them by water change, plus everything else in the salt mix. It’s just not economical and is far more work.

Ok, say the alk is really high and the Ca/Mg is really low. Would you suggest 2 part dosing? What else would you suggest?

I’d use calcium chloride and a commercial or diy magnesium supplement.
