High Magnesium

Is this a thing? Is my Red Sea Pro test faulty? It’s reading upwards of 1600. I’ve done it three times. I had my bf do it too...
corals look fine, but I’m a worry wart!

I've asked this exact question and Randy responded by saying that the Red Sea Mg test is likely not accurate. Many people have had issues with that test kit. I switched to a different brand and the levels still test higher than I would like but not nearly as high as as the Red Sea test showed.

You could always purchase a saltwater test kit and mail-in to see what the Mg is and compare, of course, you will also get other important readings.

I actually purchased two, one for the seawater and one for the RO water.

I use the Aqua forest Mag test kit which i believe gives the most accurate results out of the bunch. BRS did a best of Mag test kit video which may be helpful to you.

What salt mix are you using?

If you have not added magnesium, it will reflect what was in the salt mix, and most are not close to that high. Try the kit on some new salt water.
