High parmeters, why and how long?

Had to swap out tank (same size) keep sand bed,rock, added more dry rock and 40 or gallon water 15 gal of ro water 2 days ago parimeter all high, salt 1.025,mag 1800 ,alk 12.3,nitrates 16.3,ph 6.5 will this stablize and how soon to start water change,i didnt check parimeters before started this corals are fine chech with hanna

Are you using the same salt or a different brand than your previous tank?

I would do a 10-15% water change in a few days. Do these weekly until you start to see your levels lower. I wouldn't do any drastic big changes with changing your parameters, as you can do more harm than good this way.

If you moved your old sand into a new tank, that could be the issue. Messing with/stirring up settled sand can also stir up any crud that has settled in/on your sand and cause parameter swings. Some people opt for new sand when switching tanks. If you haven't, check out your ammonia levels, as moving sand can cause these to increase in your aquarium.
