I got a cool coral the hitched on some live rock, I spent a week with Eric Borneman trying to figure out what it was exactly...Never did find out specifically what it is......You gotta love free corals especially one as cool as that....
 
yah, its encrusting, it all used to be 1 piece, then i flipped the rock upside down a little and some areas died, its growin back, the areas between the growth have the old skeleton, and they flatten out whenever i touch them.
