Wavemaker Placement With a HOB Filter

Hi,

I currently have a 75-gallon reef tank running a hang-on-back filter and three wavemakers. I’m looking for examples of how others have positioned their wavemakers when using a HOB filter.

If anyone could share pictures of their setup or offer suggestions on placement that worked for them.

Thanks in advance.

I would have one on each end and then if you need to use the third one, place it on the back wall on the opposite end of your HOB. You should have plenty of flow with just two wavemakers in a 75 depending on the size of your wavemakers.

Above is good advice . However it is to me dependant on where , and what type of \coral you will get. Some are very sensitive to flow . So If you are not like me and can afford it get DC controlled equipment . Or wait and get appropriate sized stuff. I had to add one large one to my empty 76 because I was getting a film on the surface using only my Canister filter which really isn't considered a big circulation method. Lots of advice on this topic but I developed my own for those very reasons
