Will a melanurus wrasse leave my clams alone? I know they will not bother corals, but i want to make sure they will not harm my clams. I don't mind them eating my plethora of snails.

Mine had not bothered any of the 5 I have. I have had him for 2+ years and had clams the whole time.....

You'll be just fine.

I've always kept a maxima alongside mine.

i dont think they bother clams, but mine sure did nip the fin of my yellow coris and i had the coris for 6mos b4 him.
he had to return to the LFS.

and ate a couple of my nassarius the 24hrs he was there.
