Had it in the tank for 2 weeks and it has lost its green color. It is on the bottom under the tank under led. Do 8 need more light or less

Can you provide more specifics for us please :) Such as what lighting, what are your water parameters, is it near any other corals that may be irritating it? How old is the tank?

I agree with Mcjones about more info but I just moved a large piece that has a brown spot on it due to poor lighting.

So I have an lights ramping dkh at 17 been bringing it down mag 1300 calcium 500 nitrate 10ppm phosphate 5 temp 77. The coral is by another Hollywood and a fun fun is 3 inches away. Location in bottom of tank

Your alk and calcium are really high. Could be a contributing factor. What lighting do you have? Led, t5 ? What brand and how intense do you have it set.

It is led and it ramps the highest is at 50 blue 30 white

Thank you....my guess is your high alk at 17 dkh and calcium isnt sitting well, are any other corals showing signs of being upset? I'd do a series of water changes to bring your nutrients down and dim your lights a little bit to help it recover.

Only way to drop alk is with water changes of a lower alk concentration or let it work it’s way down itself without dosing or adding anything. (Test new salt water first to make sure not adding more). Even if go that route with water changes, you’ll want to take it slooooow and not drop more than 1 point per day as it’ll stress the coral more. I’d say with that many points, do a half point a day so as to not strip too quickly.

Yeah, I wouldn't do that. Just do couple water changes to bring it down. When you start adding chemicals to correct imbalances it has the potential to cause more issues than it corrects. #reefsquad any other suggestions.

Muratic may drop ph to drastically to my understanding as well. I personally have never dosed muratic to a live systems, sooooooo I may be totally wrong.

Oooh I'm not dosing it straight in I keep it in a container for 24 hours and test the ph would drop so low if I poured it in killing everything it's a slow process of adding some water back in
