Home distilled ethanol

Hi Randy. I've been dosing home distilled ethanol to great effect. Better results than nopox that never did anything for me.
Tonight i realized my still uses copper pipes.
What are the chances of copper leaching into the ethanol?
Im guessing i should replace copper with stainless condenser?
So far no ill affects but no3 way down dosing 40%.

Yes, definitely replace the copper with stainless. If done carefully, I expect little copper will dissolve into the condensing ethanol/water mix, but if you accidentally went to far and were condensing a higher concentration of water, more will.

I don't know why but nopox didn't do anything to control my no3. Vodka worked but it's expensive so i decided to make my own ethanol. It's working far netted than nopox ever did and it's far cheaper to make ethanol than buy nopox or vodka

By the way I know tis does not apply . I talked to a Jewish guy that was in Poland during the second world war. He used to make shine to sell , even to the Germans to feed his family . He was adamant about double distilling to make sure it was not wood alcohol. Might be a thought ?

while bad for people, I don’t think small amounts of methanol are a concern for organic carbon dosing a reef. :)

But if you mean double distilling to avoid copper, I don’t think it will help.

No It avoided wood alcohol which blinded or killed people . So I wondered about any connection with fish health
