I have two stainless steel hose clamps submersed from Lowe’s in my sump. I tried the plastic rachet but had one come loose and cause a flood in the middle of the night. Not going back to those.

Im changing my UV bulb in a few weeks and figure it’s a good time to switch those clamps out.

Has anyone left these clamps submersed without issues? Should I switch out for titanium clamps? Maybe just replace the stainless steel once a year when changing UV bulb?

Use titanium ones.

Ordered. Thanks!

I just ordered some plastic ones from amazon. I am getting paranoid about metal leeching into my water. The assorted pack came to $13. The above titanium ones are $30 to ship!?!
The plastic ratcheting hose clamps are designed for a very narrow window of hose diameters; BRS only offers plastic hose clamps for braided vinyl tubing, for example! (Braided vinyl has a thicker hose wall than most other types of hose)

— this said, it can be a pain to actually spec the correct diameter plastic hose clamp, but they definitely do work when sized correctly!

I did not use braided vinyl tubing so this may have been my issue

I switched out stainless for those titanium clamps. Shipping did seem kinda high for 2 clamps
