How big does an Engineer Goby get?

I am planning on getting a new tank and making sure I have some pipes going under the sand for my 2 Engineer Gobys to hide in peace. My question is, how wide do they get? I have found how long they can get but I have no idea the width of the pipes I should be buying. Any adult engineer goby "parents" out there who can enlighten me? Thanks

They get about 1/2 inch wide and up to 6-7 inches long
