So i bought this from my lfs, looked like a relatively new frag but they don’t often have them, i saw that they liked low flow and light so have put it in the bottom area of my tank and various other areas, it puffed up from quite often but the flesh has been retracting from the skeleton and dont know what to do, it is currently in a low flow and light area, any suggestions?

Light PAR?

I have 1 reef photon which means light could be too low, I acclimated it over 40 mins pouring in half a cup at a time, parameters have low alk (currently trying to fix of around 7) although this hasn’t killed my other lps they just didn’t grow, and my nitrates are like 20 thanks for any help. The only issue is that most high light areas also get quite some flow as my tank scape it quite open.

How can you test whether it is happy, i have had it like a month and a half at this pont and this has slowly been happening hence why i have moved it

What light are you running? Sand bed may be TOO low.
I agree with that and have moved it higher although it still doesn’t looks happy, i thought these were meant to be easy, my trachy, euphyllia and chalices all look great so surely the parameters cant be the cause, how do i get an idea of how much flow there is as it doesn’t have tentacles to look at? As you can see it is a little puffed ip but nothing compared to what i have seen they should look like

I use feeding time to check flow or if you're dosing reef about it's basically a water dye.
How old is your tank?

At this point 4 and a bit months old, but a lot of the stuff in it was from my old tank that i had a year

Also what kind of flow am i looking for, because when i checked it looked pretty low flow

I will try and get a video using some coral food
