So I had an all Softie tank but I decided to sell them and make it an SPS tank. The tank is a Red Sea Max Nano approximately 20 gallons. My problem is I’m dealing with some algae. How do I get rid of it?

Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0.25
Calcium 450
Alkalinity 8
Magnesium 1300
Salinity 1.026

get snails, crabs, urchins. feed less, and increase filtration.

in the meantime you can use an old toothbrush to scrub off the algae from the rocks.
Awesome thank you

for the urchins, i would do 1 tuxedo, or add a pincushion if you see the algae not being handled fast enough. snails i'd suggest are: trochus, cerith, nerite, astrea and 1 mexican turbo. crabs, i'd get half of the amount of snails you get since they like to steal shells- but i'd suggest dwarf blue legged and scarlet reef hermits since they're not as annoying to snails as red or any of the "designer" ones like the halloween, or electric blue.

Would you recommend a water change and scrub algae off?

i’m dealing with this now. 10 month tank. good strong brush, monitor nutrients and I think i’m going to up my cuc. Afraid of an urchin because it will knock over all my frags and drive me nuts. Once you knock down the big pieces, the snails will then take care of the emerging algae before it gets ugly.

yes 10% weekly. When you change your water, take out the rocks that are covered in algae, scrape them in your old water and place back in tank. Keeps it under control at least.
