How do I move my tank?

With tank I would use those furniture sliders that was mentioned. I did that with my tank worked wonders

Laminate waterproof is good, but it’s not what you think though. What it does is prevent moisture ground floor moisture seeping up to the surface. However, if you get a flood again, it needs to be removed completely. Hope you were aware of that. It’s better than carpet though.

Tiled flooring with large padded area rugs only way to go in wet environment conditions especially basements..

What area are you in?
Once you syphon water into buckets and put the live rock in them you literally have all day with no worries. Lids will help control spills. Can toss in battery air bubblers if you have fish. Wrasses will slide into cracks of rock and disappear so I do recommend keeping fish in separate buckets so water stays cleaner..
Those small furniture sliders are amazing can move hundreds of pounds super easy putting one under each leg.. Or them square wooden padded furniture dollies with four wheels can be rented or probably bought for the same price will work also... Oh remember to put the heater into a bucket of water or something don’t just take it out of water and set it down needs to cool down slowly. Take your time no rush!! No this got twisted . I only wanted opinions as to use live or dry rock for a new tank . The flood happened years ago but thanks

One way to tell if carpet is vapor lock is remove carpet in corner if you see a plastic film on top or bottom of the pad it’s a vapor barrier and if you have flood that needs to come out. This is what I do for a living is water damage. You would be surprised on how many people try to argue with me from removing the flooring. They say well it’s waterproof. Yes and no. It’s waterproof from ground floor surface up. If area is wet it will prevent drying. It locks in moisture if this makes sense

hopefully I will never find out . Itis quite thick 4-5 mm. It is put down with a thick glue which cures not just on bare concrete , so as I am learning about new technology as compared to when I did all my own work 4 decades ago , I hope you are wrong but again as long as my sump behaves which was the problem I wont find out on your description the underlay was a vapor lock

Umm was replying to the original posters questions @Daphne's_Reef not the side rail basement topic ..Maybe you have the wrong thread regarding live or dry rock since theres no mention of it by you nor anyone in this thread? Unless Im stuck in a rabbit hole…

Empty the tank into two of the 22gallon black totes from Lowe’s you can place them on a big towel or blanket if you want to drag them. They come with lids to minimize splashing. Then just transfer empty tank over. Ive seen multiple tanks with just a few inches of water bust from being transported uneven.

Water and rocks are heavy don’t break your back and think you have to rush things. Just fill buckets less then half full or whatever your comfortable carrying them over to new location. If you don’t have enough buckets just use two or three storage containers near the location filling them with buckets. That way all your water is at the new location. Small pumps to move water help a lot but 50ft would be a long hose. Honestly nothing wrong with using dry garden hose once to syphon or pump water to new location in bins if elevation works. I use white 50ft RV hoses a lot designed for drinking water moving saltwater around.
