How do I translate my ATI water test to real reefer results?

I decided to send off some water to see if it is close to my Hanna meters and this is what I got.
My test results were.
Calcium 475 PPM
Alkalinity 10.1 dKH
salinity 1.028 s/g
can you give me some feedback as to whether we should even be spending money on sending off water for testing or just do it our selves?

Most people use ICP tests to find out where trace elements are at not calcium, mag, etc. So i would look at the other tests results like iodine, etc that are below range.

If you dont have a huge investment in corals then ICP cash would probably be better spent on water changes. Just my opinion anyways.

API says your salinity is 1.024, not 1.028
And it says your calcium is only 223.8mg/L or ppm, not 475 ppm.
?

So what do we believe the results we do at home? Or the water we sent off to a lab like ATI?

The numbers I typed were results that I got when I tested just before I sent the water off.

OK, so your alk home test was accurate. What do you use to measure salinity & calcium?
