I use a bandsaw with a diamond blade. I also make sure to give them about a 10 minute iodine dip after the cutting.

Caddisfly is Lugols OK? Do you dip in iodone and tank water and if so what ratio. Sorry not trying to jack your thread. :)

Thanks Caddisfly! Is there a brand of iodine you recommend? Is povodone iodine or iodine tincture okay?

Lugols is what I use for the iodine dips. Ptownreefer, I haven't used those types of iodine before. I use two drops of the Lugols in about 1/4 gallon of water.

i;ve got one of these bad boys coming my way http://www.modelexpo-online.com/product.asp?ITEMNO=PRO37170 I will let ya know how it works!!

Wow, that one ends up being kind of pricey after adding a couple things that you will need.

MICRO BANDSAW #37172 $ 254.99
COOLANT CONTAINER FOR BANDSAW AND DISC SANDER 37.99
DIAMOND BLADE FOR BANDSAW 127.99 (keep in mind the inland db100 comes with 2 diamond blades)

= 420.97 (one blade)
= 548.96 (two blades)

You can get the inland with two blades shipped for about 200. Granted that the unit above looks better in build, the inland will do what you need for less than half the price.

Thats what I use also. The dremel works great but with a band saw you can scroll around the eyes with no problem. Also, the demel blad ewill get MUCH hotter than a band saw blade.

I use the inland diamond bandsaw too. I love it. Way better than a dremel.
