I am planning on setting up a 55gal frag/prop tank and this is the bulb setup I was thinking of:

ATI Blue +
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Blue +

The fixture is going to be a Tek T5 HO fixture with standard ballasts.

Corals that will be in the tank (pretty much everything)

Chalices
Zoos/palys
Montis
Favia
Other SPS (Digi, milli, etc)

Looking for the best of both worlds - Growth and Color.

Help me out and let me know!

should be fine. you might want to keep most acros closer to the top, but all in all i think that will work fine.

That will give you good par and good 14-20k look. It will be able to handle any sps.

Thanks for the replies so far! I am looking for a blue look for color, but still be able to keep SPS and get good growth.

I would switch out a bulb for at least one 10k bulb to maximize growth

I was hoping the Aquablue Special's had enough of a wide spectrum to cover that range without being too white.

What does anyone else think? I have been following a few people's threads and this was the best/most popular combination it seems.

Great combo but for me in a prop tank its all about the growth I would do 2 10k and then the aqua blues

Yea if it was a display tank the 2 and 2 would be great. Im running a 2 B+, GE6500k, and a 22k aquascience. not a bad look with good growth

if you're fragging/propping, you'll want to use 10ks or GE 6.5ks for growth

if you want those bulbs so you can stare at your pretty frags, that's a pretty good combo. i would stagger the bulbs B+,BS,B+,BS front to back to get a better color blend
