How has coral bleaching impacted you?

Since some of you seem to have lived in areas with coral reefs I was curious if bleaching events have affected your local area. Does anyone have before/after pics or older pictures of reefs in better shape. I do not live in an area with photosynthetic coral so I dont have any perspective on this issue.
