How have your tastes changed?

I have not been doing this for very long, but already noticing a change in what I appreciate in a tank, for instance, did not immediately see the appeal of the garden of several different kinds of the same coral (which seemed artificial to me at first but just found myself imagining what it would look like in my tank), or the negative space aquascape. I tend to like my gardens and my tanks a little crazy and random and not too manicured.

Also see many people mentioning moving into or out of sps and softies at various times for various reasons.

How have your tastes in reef tanks changed over time? Is there a common progression people go through from just starting to many years in?

FWIW, I don't think my preferences have changed much over the years. What is available to obtain has, but that's different. :)

I didn't like those "meat" corals in the first few years but started to fall in love with micromussa and blastos, tho i'm still not a fan of the others. My preference always goes to torch, hammer, goni, leather, and very recently kingspawns
