How High Do You Keep Your Halides?

Lots of people say different things about light placement and i was basically curious what height you guys(girls) hang your halides above your water?

What kind of reflectors are you using?

i was just wondering about everyones height. i have an AquaSpaceLight 3x250w thats about 8" above the tank.

Hope all is well!

I am an all T5 user now, but when I did have 2 SE 250W Halides w/ VHOs, they were 9" above the water line. Do you have a fellow reefer that has a PAR meter? This would be your best bet for adjusting your lights.

Got a 250 20000k radium hanging 1' awl on a 24x24x24 cube. Just got my par readings, ~250 at the sandbed. I was wondering why I was nuking everything from the top(~600) to mid range. Ya, I need to raise them.

Running a lumenmax 2 and icecap hqi ballast.

how are you cuna? i do not have anyone with a par meter. that would be nice though! i have a bunch of T5 stuff too, nothing wrong with it for softies and fish ;-) i also have several LED lights that i REALLY like. i coined a new phrase: "you cant beat the look of LEDs and you cant beat the cook of halides" LOL..
