How high should water be from the rim

Hey everyone, I have an IM AIO 50 lagoon which comes with a level for me to change the flow into the AIO sump and raises the level of the tank.

How high should the water be from the rim of the tank? Should I leave more room
In case fish jump out?

I would say as high as you can. But you have to consider if something clogs up your pre-filter will it cause the tank to overflow?

Mine is an inch from the top. You may want to go a little bit lower, depending on where your power heads and wave makers are located, and how they are set.

I'm just under an inch with the pumps running.
