From my understanding once the tank is cycled it means the bacterial colony has grown to a rate that it can process ammonia and break it down into nitrite and nitrate.
You can add a fish once the tank has completed its cycle.
Correct, fish can be added immediately once the tank cycles, how many fish will depend on how much he fed the tank, how much bio has been grown. But yes, fish can be added right away.

Sorry...I just saw "Endgame" so I have super heroes on my brain. So I have to pass on the advice from Captain America. Take it slow, my friend.

Welcome to R2R ! As for adding live stock to a new tank, Lot's of variables & every one has their own theory's . My best advice is to take it real slow . I'm talking fish a month even. Maybe You could do more but that's my OP !
what ever Ya decide, please keep us informed !

Thank you for the great information. I read this post and found it extremely helpful, and for that reason I joined R2R officially. I have a new 100G fish only tank in cycle now. I had high Ammonia for about 10 days and I was concerned, but it finally started dropping, and is now almost zero. Nitrite still high but seeing Nitrates now also so I expect it won't be long now.

I read that most new tanks have an ugly brown phase... My water and aquascape has been nearly perfect from day one. Am I just lucky or can I expect an ugly phase is yet to come?
