I'm just cycling my my 120 gallon tank right now. It's a 4x2x2 tank with a 40 gallon sump and I'm consolidating a bunch of my smaller tanks I have now into it but have ALWAYS hated changing filter socks so invested in a Reefmat 1200 when I bought the tank. I don't have it hooked up yet because I don't want to strip anything out yet but I was just kind of curious how long a roll is lasting people. I would say it's going to be a light to light/medium bio load to start with maybe five fish total and nothing huge because they're coming from small tanks. I appreciate your knowledge!

Depends on the tank return and waste but I have friends that the rolls last 1-2 month

Mine used to use about 18" a day on my 200g tank .... then i got a diamond goby who is constantly sifting sand on the bottom and stirring things up - this increased my usage to around 27" a day.... you get 114 feet on a roll so the math is (before diamond goby around 2 1/2 months) after DG 1.5 months).

All good to know! I was actually thinking about adding a diamond goby so that's good to know also that he will "help" to keep the tank clean even if it doesn't help the life expectancy of my fleece rolls lol.

About one hundred and fourteen or fifteen feet, and then it’s time for a new one.
