Why a sponge filter? Not on a reef i hope. It will become a nitrate sponge.

Actually im planning on using them for my QT tanks till i get my other tanks drilled and plumbed.

We got a great deal on some clowns. 40 bucks each for snowflake and 30 each for true blacks. Local Also a breeding pair of percs. So i need to set up 2 other tanks to act as qt and holding tanks. So i was going to use some LR and these filters to keep levels in check till i get my setup built then Ill transfer these guys in.

I have no Ammo at this time. This is just a simple little tank (10g), Filtration - Casscade 300, one heater set for 78, SeaChem Ammo indicator, pvc pipe, digital thermometer. These little guys don't eat much. I just did a small water change on their tank this past weekend and will do another one this weekend and I also try to keep the bottom cleaned of debris that don't get sucked in by the power filter.
QT are quite simple and basic. And if you have to medicate then you don't have to worry about the LR getting that med stuff soaked into them.

I was wrong I do not have the Casscade 300 on that tank it is on another tank. The one that I have on the QT is a Tetra Whisper EX45 that was the only one I had handy that was not being used at the time I set up the QT tank.
