How long to wait before adding an anemone?

I've had a 29 gallon biocube setup for about a year and a half, I've got a happy pair of clownfish living in it, as well as two gobies, a clam and a good bit of coral.

Two weeks ago, I migrated the entire aquarium into a 65 gallon drilled tank. Almost all the live rock was reused or placed in the sump, and the sand was reused as well as new sand added. I did this to keep the colony as stable as possible, and everything seems to be going well. I've avoided a cycle, everyone seems to love having more space and the much brighter lighting. I am of course going through a diatom bloom because of the new sand.

How long should I wait to allow the aquarium to settle before adding an anemone? I was hoping I could give it a month or two and then get one assuming the tank seems stable at that point. Am I rushing it? Being too cautious?

I would say as long as you feel comfortable the tank is stable, then go for it. Your rock has over a year's worth of life in it. Give it a month and find you a nice nem.

People double up in swaps all the time using their existing rock, and usually w/out cycle.
I'd say in this case as long as you feel it's stable, probably fine now, maybe take your time just finding the right nem and species that suits your tank and clowns best

Everyone’s skills are different. Seeing that you acknowledge a diatim bloom is coming, you likely posess the knowledge that’s required to see issues you WILL have, and most likely posess the skills and experience to navigate through the issues coming. This is all what the hobby is about. The fun. :)
