I am going to be running 4 workhorse 7's to power 8 80w T5's. One ballast for sure will have its own power source for dusk/dawn. What about the other 3? I don't want to have 4 power cords if at all possible.

What do you think?

As long as the the power cord is rated for the current you will be using, you can put all the ballasts on one cord. 8x80 is only 640 watts, so with start up current you should be looking at less than 10 amps so it does not need to be a very heavy cord either.

if you look on the tag of the power cord or power strip it will say how much power it is rated for
