OK So I am about to put three tangs in my tank and I think it's getting full, MAYBE one more tang later if there is no more agression, and probably a few more smaller fish like the purple pseudochromis, he's cool when I see him around.

240g 8x2x2 with 300+g of sump.

Stocklist:
Powder Blue Tang 6"
Ringtail Tang 6"
Blonde Naso 7"
Bristletooth tang of some sort 3"
Pinkface Wrasse 5"
Christmas wrasse 3"
Pair of 6" Blue Jaws
Baby Niger Trigger
Two Barred Rabbit
CBB
Pair of Mandarins
Purple Pseudochromis
Springeri Dottyback
Pair of Black clowns
Pink spotted Goby 4"

So far there is no aggression or pollution problem, nitrates are 2.5 and skimmer is a MSX 2S Cone which does a good job keeping things clean. Display tank is an SPS tank and my thread is here:
https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/f52/240g-display-540g-system-27822.html

The tangs will go in this weekend all three big ones at once, and of course I will monitor for aggression then, actually I think I will put the three of them in the 150g frag tank that is attached to the system with some new rocks so that they can get used to each other and the water, then move them into the display in a few days.

In general does anyone think I have room for a XXXXXXL yellow tang? or two?

If not (and I cant see anyone recommending it) can someon recommend some other peaceful small fish like the dottyback, its awesome and I would like to have some more small cheap colorful fish.

Cheers
Kevin

i think you are fine. i have a 180g with 75g sump and i have more fish than that, lol. maybe not as big, but if you are just counting numbers, i have more.

i think as long as you have a good skimmer and your system can handle it, it will be ok. i have had the best coral color and growth with the large bio load. i dont even feed anything special for corals anymore. my tank is 95% sps.

Remember though that the big tangs are probably taking up more territory and bio load then about 6 pseudochromis or the like

How long have you had the purple Pseudochromis? I had one and it kept going after and harassing everything but the purple tang in my tank.He had to go. Although I had it in a 75g and you do have a "little" more volume....

Love the setup!

Little over a month i think and there has been no sign of aggression at all, hes the 2nd smallest fish in the tank though so what can you expect.

Personally I would add a lot more smaller fish like anthias, they are peaceful unless you have multiple males of same species, but that's just my own taste.
