I was thinking about how from time to time I hear about our planet's reefs becoming smaller or disappearing, and so I started to wonder how many square feet of reef are in glass boxes. I don't even know how you would begin to estimate this on a worldwide level. But I bet I could get a rough number for the size of the combined square feet and water volume of R2R reef keepers.

So what I'm asking is for all members who come across this thread to give me the square feet and water volume of their reef systems. Once this thread seems to have stopped getting input, or in one month, I will go through and add it up and then post the results.

I'll start
20 sq. ft.
280 gallons

Thanks to all who post

I keep a small 46 bow display, so it's about 3-4 sq. ft. I have about another 20 sq. ft. in holding and growth tanks.

i have 800 gallons of water in an 800 sq ft duplex ;)
I need square feet and water volume

We are just getting started and we are already at 230 sq ft and 3320gal not counting the 800 gal above until I know the sq ft. Rev got away with only giving sf because I know how big his tank is. It's a 75 gal right rev.:laughing8:

Actually the inside area of a tank should be cubic feet.Like a refrigerator.Square ft would be the floor space it takes up.Am I wrong on this?Soa 2 X 8 tank(240 gal) is 16 sq ft or 32 cubic feet.
Sorry maybe that issss what you are asking.

I have a 90 gallon tank, 48x18x24 so 6 sq ft. I also have about 65 gallons in my rubbermaid sump, but no corals down there.
