How much flow???

So I'm starting an sca 80 gallon. 32x24x24. It's going to be a mixed reef. Planning on the top half sps bottom half lps and zoas. I have 2 mp10s on the back wall on reefcrest plus whatever flow I get from my return pump. Will this be enough? If not how much more would I need. Additional mp10 or an mp40 or more. Thanks

I'm of the belief that there is no such thing as too much flow. On my five foot tank I have four MP-40's and one MP-10. Might want to take a look at what Dana Riddle said about overcoming the "boundary layer" in his 2016 MACNA talk....at about the 24:45 minute mark:



If it were me, I'd add at least two more controllable powerheads.

I would consider what you have to be adequate, but you may consider adding more flow down the road. As your corals grow in the flow within the tank will be more restricted. Adding two more MP10's for example will probably help eliminate the dead spots you find. But what you have should be good enough to keep corals alive and get things started IMO
